Day 360. New beginnings

Today I had an awkward day. Not because something necessarily happened, but because it was my last day of summer vacation. And I had this weird feeling associated to hours passing and bringing me closer and closer to a new beginning. Cos I don't really do beginnings. You know, it takes me a while till I get used to the idea of it.
What's even weirder is that I'm going back to the same workplace I had last year so I should feel comfortable, right? Instead, I had this dreading feeling of leaving behind the carefree, convenient schedule I had all summer and going back to obeying adult life rules again. That feeling we all have after any holiday:)
The good thing is that we're getting used to anything that's new and we surpass that fear of not being able to control everything because we remember that we can deal with whatever comes. With or without help. We're not alone in the world and even if, our brain is a problem solver anyhow.
So I'll be fine. I just have to get used to the idea of waking up early again and focus on the positive side of everything: in the end I'm going back to my dream job:) What can be better than that?

Day 330. Brand new

We all go through new situations at some point. Things we're not used to, things we gotta deal with even if we don't know how to. Those are the situations that are going to be cornerstones for our future development. The ones that will help us get more knowledge and achieve wisdom more easily. Because how would we evolve if life was only a continuous routine where nothing new ever happened?
New things used to scare me when I was a teenager because I liked my things the way I had them. So whenever something new happened, be it having a new teacher, needing to solve a new type of problem or discovering a new social network I felt odd. I would always reject it at first and it would take me a while to get used to it. The thing I learned these past years, though, is that we can accommodate to anything. No matter how bad, strange or how uncomfortable it is, we find a way to cope with it. Sure, if we can avoid it, we will do that, but when it's one of those things you have get used to... you will. Our nature helps us accommodate and keep learning from our experience. So why avoid new situations if they can help you grow?
Today I decided to make an account on tumblr. It's still weird for me, but I'm figuring it out. And I'm surely not feeling odd anymore:) Cos now I know new is good. New is a pathway to better. So here's so outrunning ourselves!:)

Day 178. It's all about the journey

Picking snowdrops in spring Cluj Romania

... not the destination, they say:) Today my family and I made a new step in our family tradition journey:) We went in the search of spring. And we found her:)
We chose a different spot this time. One that we visited 4 years ago. Interestingly, we remembered details that helped us arrive exactly where Spring was laying in the woods. But today we took a new road, different than last time. Are you afraid of the new? I am, too. But I trust my dad. He has a good spatial orientation:) So our team began its walk towards the lonely woods, towards patches of snow and mild wind. When entering the forest an intense feeling of peace and joy caught me completely. I felt I was there and then. And nothing else mattered.
We continued our journey while gazing around and enjoying the sun embracing us through the trees. In the end we arrived at the destination. Snowdrops were peaking at us from everywhere. They were here and there, in the valley and on the little hill. But they were shy. Still not prepared to fully blossom. We carefully picked some and then we took some photos of us. I promised I'd frame one of them because we should forever remember today. This perfect spring day that God bestowed upon us:)
The road home made me smile once more because I realized all this journey helped me find myself, the same feeling I have after visiting a church. I really felt I connected with everything around me. I breathed spring, I let her come around me and enter my lungs, my heart, my everything. I feel complete. Right here, right now.

Day 151. Ideas worth borrowing

veggies face

You know those moments in your life when you don't know what to eat anymore and you're fed up with the food you have whenever you open the fridge? In those moments, try to reach out to your friends. You'll be surprised to find out some old recipes cooked in a new way that seem really appealing.
A friend said he's eaten fried cheese (that sounds weird in English) and some veggies along with some garlic sauce, so I thought: why not try that myself? Yum! It was delicious!:) I can't wait to find out new recipes!
So, whenever creativity leaves the building it's good to remember you can turn to your dear ones. Not only for advice, but also for food tips;)

Day 135. Breaking down

Breaking down

Today I felt like I was kidnapped and taken to an entirely new place for me, a foreign country with a language and culture rather different from mine. And then I was told I had to get back home on my own while Big Brother was watching. I felt lonely in a crowd, hopeless and scared of everything that new country meant to me. I felt it would be really hard to get to talk to people, make them understand my needs and then find a way to get back home safe. And all this because of a new computer with the ultimate Windows version on it, new PC monitor and new keyboard which weren't working properly.
Unfortunately, I'm a conservative person. I don't like this about me, but at least I acknowledge it. The thing is that I like to discover things that work for me and then use them as much as I can or until I get bored of them. If I know a certain label is the best for me then it's gonna be hard for you to make me give up on it, although I like experimenting from time to time (with shower gels or other hygiene products). So you can get a hang of how I felt when my brother took everything I once had and gave me a bunch of new stuff that would supposedly make my life easier. He wasn't patient enough to help me adjust to all these things, so it was hard to make him understand I have different needs than he does and that maybe I just want to stick to some things I already know...
So the people in the new country were rather indifferent, passing by like nothing happened while I was crying alone, in a corner. And then a man came closer and helped me get back home. It was my boyfriend.
