Weekly inspirations Week 2: The best days

When I saw this quote today, after everything I've lived in the past couple of months, I just I had to share it with you.
Look, I know life's complicated and complex and it's tough to get out of some crazy life situations that we find ourselves in, but most times we control our own life. Even if we can't change the circumstances, we can still control our reaction and interpretation of everything that is happening to us. Oh, I know you might say I'm channeling my inner psychologist too much, but it's true! Every little word. And guess what? Exactly in those times when you're worried about your future, when you have to step out of your comfort zone and you have no idea where life will take you, that's when you need to stay positive and tell yourself "The best is yet to come"!
So many things have changed in my life lately and I am experiencing so many new things that scared me at first but which I now LOVE that I just couldn't be happier. Sure, change might be tough, but don't let it bring you down! You're stronger than you think you are, my dear! So much stronger! :) And remember, the BEST is yet to come!

The Game

Dear present self,

We’re all born in the middle of a Game. The difficulty level is chosen beforehand but it doesn’t even matter because we all play the same levels.
Whenever you think you’re strong, the Game proves you just how weak you can be. And then you have to play those levels over and over again until you learn the right lessons and you become strong again. But strength doesn’t come alone. You need to keep those lessons tight because you’ll need them again in the next levels.
Some levels are a piece of cake. They seem too easy to be real, and yet they’re awesome. In the end you learn to enjoy them but after a while you get bored and you wonder where the dragon is hiding. You miss fighting the dragon but then, when you actually meet him two stages later you freak out and fail.
Failure is natural. It’s a game after all. The important thing is to learn those lessons and move on wiser, be always prepared for the unexpected and embrace whatever comes with peace. You can go to the next level more easily if you try to solve the previous with a cold mind: “What went wrong? Why did it go wrong? How can you solve it?”
And then, when you least expect, the Game sends you a little clue. Take that clue and use it wisely to pass to the next level. Never give up until you finish the Game. Stay strong and keep playing!

With love,

Yourself

Day 331. Fearless

It's funny how we're built up to be the strongest and the weakest version of ourselves all in the same person. It all depends on how we interpret things, our past experiences and if others seem weaker than us. Then we embrace the strong version of ourselves and we want to lift that person up. And somehow the next day we will be the weak one needing to be lifted up too. Interesting...
Everything starts and ends with the brain:) As much as you'd like to think that events around you influence what you feel, it's never like that. And one of the reasons that brings up the worst in us is thinking about the future and the fact that we can't control it. Then panicking happens. I'm asking you though:

Funny how that comes from the person who usually worries about stuff. See? Today I'm the strong one. For two of my best friends needed to be lifted up. We do worry because we take into consideration the possibility that it won't be ok. And then we ask ourselves: "What am I going to do then? What if I lose everything and I will be alone? How am I going to cope with that?" But in those fearful times we forget to remember that:

Yes, you might lose your friends but then you have your family. You might lose your family but then you have your friends. And if you lose your boyfriend/girlfriend, there's always best friends and they never go away:) That's why they're best friends. And even IF you lose everything, believe me, you WILL find the power to go on and everything will be ok. Just fight for what you want and never give up. Everything will be ok in the end. If it's not ok, it's not the end:) Simple as that.

Day 302. Stuck... or not

We all have our addictions. We're so used to them that they become part of who we are and we don't even think if they're good or bad for us. We just have them cos they make our life prettier... for some reason.
There comes a moment in our life when we somehow discover that some of those addictions are actually bad for our existence. And we realize that we have to, you know, say our goodbyes and move on without them. But we're not mentally prepared to "break up" with them all of a sudden. Nobody expects that, anyway.
The thing is that after a while of not living with those bad addictions we have a moment of enlightenment. The moment when we realize that we can live without them just as well, that we don't really need to spend our money or time on them and that our life can be just as pretty as it used to.
So that's the moment when we wake up from our oblivion and start seeing us for who we really are: strong and powerful human beings who can live life without being addicted to something.
Sure, we'll miss the bittersweet feeling of eating the forbidden fruit, but we all know we're better off without it. So put on your best smile and move along:)

Day 179. Go with the wind

Today a furious wind took over the city. Even if the sun was trying to shine and make everything look brighter, the wind would always be one step ahead.
I changed my coat today. Took a lighter one. And the wind took me by surprise. This made me think of the times when we're taken by surprise and we go with the wind that steal us away from ourselves. Would you let yourself be bent and broken by the wind? Or would you stand still and fight? Would you start complaining or would you do something about it? Sometimes it's ok to go with the wind because it's like going with the flow, but in most cases doing this can only cause you more trouble.
So, less going with the wind and more fighting. Become a warrior. Stand still and always remember who you are and what you want. Never let them set boundaries that harm your personality, your real self. Be yourself no matter the weather! Be strong!
