365 days project 2. Day 41. A good night's sleep

You don't realize how important sleep is until you lack part of it. For days.
I never liked sleeping. I could do so many things in those hours when all I have to do is be asleep in bed. I could watch a very entertaining movie that I never have time for because I'm busy during the day. I could read a very interesting book. I could do research for big cases from the kindergarten, or enjoy a new hobby. Nevertheless, I have to sleep.
There are times when I'm pushing my luck and I only go to sleep late at night. I bet you all know that situation. And what happens next? Eeeexactly. You can't wake up the next day. And if this happens for a while then you dread waking up. It's a vicious circle. You don't want to go to sleep and then you don't want to wake up.
Sometimes all you have to do is remind yourself that you can't control everything. That some things HAVE to be done in order to live a long and healthy life. Such is sleeping :) And when you decide to go to bed sooner the next night, then the world will seem more colorful the next morning. You gotta do what you gotta do, right?

Day 317. Heavenly gifts

vintage tulip earrings

Today was going to be one of those perfect days. I just had that feeling again.
I slept as much as I needed (a rare thing these days) and that made me very happy. Then my family and I went for a terrific picnic with a lot of people. Some we knew and some we didn't. But simply being surrounded by them was awesome. Listening to their stories and sharing mine with them. I love this kind of experiences and I actually missed meeting new people:)

You'd think it's already a pretty awesome day but it doesn't end like this. By a combination of fate and chance my best friend and I went to the mall and discovered something that would make me "the happiest she'd ever seen me" like she said:) The perfect jewels I've waited for my whole life. They just came to me. And I accepted them in my life like a lost part of me that I just found. I told the lady selling them how much I've looked for something like that and how happy they make me feel. As we parted I could tell she was genuinely happy for me. And I discovered she even offered me an extra pair of earrings. I just love bonding with people:)
I don't know if this happens to you too. If you just feel something awesome is going to happen every now and then... but I do. And I end up loving every single one of those special days:) How could I not? They're heavenly gifts:)

Day 226. 10 reasons

Today was the first time my family and I went for a picnic this year. It was very relaxing and soothing (as always). I even slept like a baby in my chair while laying in the warm sun. The funny part is that I don't remember having done that ever before. There's a first for everything, huh?
So here's my day in 10 reasons why I love spring:

1. Chilly mornings bathed in a peach sunrise
2. Picnics with family/friends
3. Trees blooming everywhere
4. Fresh green shades (grass and leaves)
5. Easy to bear temperatures (Jeans and T-shirt FTW!)
6. Longer days
7. Butterflies
8. More sun!
9. Tulips and daffodils
10. Less clothes, more feminine! Plus, people think you lost weight!:P

What about you?

Day 182. Unplugged

I don't know about you, but I think too much. I think before sleeping, while trying to sleep, after waking up and still in bed, on the way to work and so on and so forth. I just wish my dad was right.
Once upon a day when I was little and trying to sleep, he told me how sleep happens: "our brain is like a big room full of plugs", he said. "And little ants in that room unplug everything before you sleep. They shut it down." (Even if we all know our brain isn't dead while sleeping it seemed pretty accurate at the time). Well, I want the same, but during the day:) I wish I had the ability to unplug myself from thinking too much. I wish I'd just be there completely and stop analyzing little details that don't matter so much. I wish I'd just take things as they come and let them solve themselves... the little ones, I mean. I'm just too OCD sometimes: wanting to control everything around me and be sure I'm prepared for any kind of situation I might face. It tires me. I wish I'd just be there and then and not the girl who knows it all, who's thought about it all. Ok, I might have various solutions to a problem or I might find solutions faster when I have to because I'm training my brain every day, but sometimes you just want some peace. You just wanna fall asleep in minutes, not in half an hour:)

Day 181. Wedn..oh, forget it!

Sleeping beauty

My senses are numb. I walk like a zombie. From point A to point B. From point B to point C. And so on. I had a loooooooooooooooooooooong day... The usual long Wednesday. Even when you say it out loud it sounds long. Just try it. Wednesdaaaay. Bummer! But it's nothing that a good night sleep can't solve.

   Good niiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiii.........

Day 30. Autumn is like a box of chocolates

Violet little flower

... You never know what you're gonna get:)
Why did I replace "life" with "autumn"? Because just the other day while gathering wood for a barbeque I found this tiny pretty flower. I didn't think I'd find flowers around during autumn knowing nature is preparing to enter the long sleep, but there it was, smiling at me so I couldn't ignore it and I smiled back:)
Autumn continues to amaze me each day:)
