365 project 2: Day 4. To love or not to love

Is it better to have loved and lost than never to have loved at all?

I would choose the first one. As much as it hurts. It was sad to hear today someone telling me that they have never loved anyone, have never been in love, nor are they looking to fall in love at all. I happen to know this person fairly well and I can tell, as a friend and as a psychologist, that something is missing in their life. And even if they don't want to acknowledge the need of love, they are looking for it in every person they meet. So then... why fear being hurt? We have ONE life, ONE chance to live it fully, fall in love... repeatedly until we find the ONE... the one who's going to fit in perfectly in our puzzle, the one who's going to make us smile every time we see their face because we love them immensely, so much that words can not explain.
Why lose this thrilling feeling by denying ourrselves the miracle of love?

Day 348. Rules are meant to be broken

... or at least bent. That's what they say. I know, it sounds rather teenagerish and rebellious to say that in a society that's based on rules, one than cannot survive without them. I am aware of the fact that the world would be a total chaos without rules or if we wouldn't stick to them, but from time to time if you get out of that shell and you go your way instead of their way, life suddenly seems way more interesting and exciting. No wonder, huh?
Yeah, I bent a rule today and I felt good. Then I felt guilty (of course). But after that I remembered I always stick to the rules and I follow them blindly. If there's someone who does that for a living, well, that's me. But today I chose not to. And boy it felt good. "Eating the forbidden fruit". Mmm. Just as exciting as when we're kids and we steal a French fry from mommy's plate. Just as exciting as when we're teens and we skip a class and go on the highest hill in the city with out classmates and we listen to "Sweet escape" while wildly running around playing tag. Mmm. The sweet feeling follows us everywhere. And it's just as sweet every time we bend a rule.
In the end, if you don't hurt anybody and if you don't cause others damage, I guess bending the rules from time to time can sparkle your life a little bit. And we all need sparkle, don't we?:)

Day 311. Listen up

People are social beings and they communicate through speech and body language. We all know that. The bug is that many times we don't know HOW to share our ideas and we end up messing up our relationships with our friends and family because we want them to understand us but we fail to remember that we have to understand them too. How many times did that happen to you?
The key to few conflicts is being assertive. And that involves telling people what you feel without hurting them in any way. How to do that? Describe the behavior that bothers you, say how you feel and mention the effect of that behavior on you. Don't just put it on them. Don't judge or criticize them. Try to understand them too and start listening more. Listen to their needs and tell them your needs in an assertive way. Work together on keeping the good vibe:)
Be the one to start behaving differently and then notice the change that occurs around you. Stay assertive. And don't forget:
