Day 205. Have faith

Have faith

We were all amazed by winter's stormy comeback and since nobody expected it some people complained about it every single day another snowflake fell from the sky.
I have to admit that seeing a lot of snow in spring was almost like decorating a Christmas tree in the middle of summer but even so those complains were useless. With or without them, nature always follows its course and today I've seen it happen. It's the best example to show us we need to have faith that better times WILL come.
Also, I remember that when I was really sick last time I said complains should be allowed but now that I'm rational again I really see no point in using them. We gotta buckle up and brace ourselves for whatever is ahead. Keep our heads up and know. Know that everything will be ok in the end, that spring will come and that flowers will bloom. Here it is, it's happening right now:)

Day 201. Rainbows and unicorns

Children all over the world

I already told you I love fooling around like my kids: drawing, coloring, painting, hand crafting and such. So today, when I needed to find some "kids from all over the world" for the activity I'm having tomorrow, I was filled with the joy of anticipation and I surfed the internet for almost an hour until I was pleased with the result. Of course I could have asked some kids to color the drawings but I love doing it myself:) In the end, I'm very proud of what turned out:)
You could say the rainbow and I were destined to meet today because I wore the rainbow sunglasses ever since morning. It didn't matter it snowed at THE END of March. I was happy to be healthy (see where all those flu periods got me to?) and I even thought that colored snow would be inappropriate so I pretty much enjoyed snow today:)
I love wearing my rainbow sunglasses. I have to remember to use them during the cloudy days as well. That's when I need them the most:)

Day 155. Make up your mind, winter!

Whenever a season is ending you can't wait for the next one to begin. This time, spring is MY season, my beloved friend which makes me whole. So today when I saw the people from the weather forecast were right I just sighed.
It snowed again. It's beautiful to watch it while it happens, enjoy the fairy dance and feel like a child again, but man winter's gotta make up her mind. Too much time has already passed since she's been singing "Should I go or should I stay?" I really thought we said goodbye to each other already but, no, she's moody and she wants back. It's still her right to be here, so I have to keep quiet. But being patient is still tough. Let's see. Maybe if I play indifferent she'll go away.

[later on that day]
Brrrrr I'm cold! What's going on? ...  Oh no, not a flu again:(

Thank you, winter, for pimping my life. Not. I think we should break up. Asap. Don't ask me why. You already know.
With rage,
D.

Day 141. Let yourself be surprised

cute snowman

"Sometimes the smallest things take up the most room in your heart."

Today I woke up to a sea of white. I went to the window and I "wowed" for some seconds:) I loved that bright blanket covering everything even though I didn't see it for the first time this winter.
I like letting myself be surprised daily by every little detail that stands out, be it a special branch covered in snow, a snowman built by clumsy kids or a ray of sunshine coming in my office. For me these little things brighten up the day.
I know I'm bohemian but dreaming helps me smile every day and those little daily smiles bring a few more extra minutes, days, months or years to my life... and in the end what can be better than that?:)

Day 99. Be careful what you wish for

winter and snow 2012

Weeks ago I wished for snow. I wanted it so badly because I wanted everything to be perfect (like I usually do. Bad Dana!). I wanted a true winter, not just a wannabe winter, so here I have it. There's snow everywhere and I am thankful for that but... it's SOOO cold. Of course that by a mysterious chance I got a flu (again). So I decided I should be more careful with what I wish for. In the end it's not the first time I get hit in the face by my own wishes coming true.

Day 94. Let it snow

snowy december 2012

Today I stood quietly behind the window and I gazed at the amazing spectacle outside. My eyes went wider and wider with joy while I was saying "This is soooo pretty! Just the way it used to be! I wish it would last til Christmas."
I was so excited by the snow that I even wanted to decorate the fir tree today... and then I changed my mind. I remembered I want that time to be as magical as it was every year and not just a "let's get it over with and look at how pretty it is for weeks until Christmas is here" thing. So I settled for staring at the decorations from time to time. Nevertheless, I can't wait for 15 more days to pass. Or not. I really enjoy these days. These days right before it. The moments when I plan the gifts for my loved ones while listening to carols, the moments when I take the bus home and I see the Christmas lights in the entire city and I daydream about Christmas. These days are magical. And snow just makes them perfect.
Now I know: 2012 was my best year ever and I can only thank God for His support and unconditional love:) He really is awesome:)

Day 91. Powdered sugar

First snow Cluj-Napoca Romania 2012

This morning the town was sprinkled with snow. It looked so cute:) It was like God sprinkled some powdered sugar on everything except the sidewalks and the streets. (I'm still amazed how snowflakes travel such a long distance to meet the ground.)
I enjoyed this particular frame I saw when I got off the bus. I kept wearing a dumb smile on my face until I got to work because of how the church and the roofs of the houses looked like:)
I like this. I actually like winter (wait till the hell freezes over). I amaze myself how beautiful things really look like when you take a closer look while being happy, really really happy:)
So I think we should all find our reasons to be happy and then open our eyes to a brand new world:)
