365 days project 2. Day 71. Glasses

Today I went out in the middle of the nature for a bit and I enjoyed it so much I wished I could have taken it with me - the whole atmosphere, the sounds and the smell and the visual soothing images. So then I thought: how cool would it be if we could all have special glasses that we could put on and just "land" in a place like this whenever city life seems too stressful?
I know there are some prototypes made to help people overcome psychological disorders, but I'd love to see this produced for the whole population so that we could all use them whenever we can't escape to a secret, quiet, green place. Just imagine how calm you'd get in a matter of minutes if you had those glasses. Hmmm... maybe someday :)

365 days project 2. Day 62. Finding peace of mind

In a fast forward type of world where peace seems like a utopia, something adults wish for their birthday and Christmas and a dream achieved only by Buddhist monks, what can we actually do to have peace of mind?
I thought a lot about this concept today. Of course I'm not a VILC - very important life coacher or some sort of guru. I've studied psychology but that doesn't make me wise. Not yet. So you can take the things I'm going to write about as a nice story to read or you can try to implement them in your life and see if they work. I'm talking purely based on my personal experience.
I noticed that we talk the talk but we don't really walk the walk when we say we want to be at peace. No, really! Think about it. What have you actually done lately to be at peace?
You see, someone wise once said that first you have to be at peace with yourself and only then you can be at peace with the others. There are so many things that upset us, disappoint us, frustrate us or annoy us daily. And when that happens, I don't know about you, but I feel a pressure in my stomach and then I know I am feeling negative energy growing inside me. As much as I don't like the feeling, it helps me take action. Because when I feel that pressure I know something's wrong and I can stop and analyse what has just happened. I think that one important step in achieving peace of mind is trying to find an explanation to what happened, the source of the negative energy. The way we interpret the world brings us closer or pushes us further away from peace of mind. It's normal to not be all sunshine and rainbows every day. Being sad, upset, dissatisfied or frustrated is normal, but wallowing in those negative emotions doesn't help you or the others. Therefore, think about it. What made you feel like that? What can you do to fix the problem so you can be happy again?
Another step to reaching peace of mind is accepting what is happening to you. Sometimes some things will upset you but unfortunately you can't control everything. So if you just accept that other people might have different values, interests, needs and desires the world might seem less grim. So, take it as it comes. Don't stress about it, it will only bring negative energy around you. And then you're back to square one.
Stop comparing yourself to the others. I've said it a thousand times and I'll say it again. You are different, they are different, but we can all live together in a happy world if you start liking yourself more and stop caring about what the others are doing. Are they happy? Good for them! What's stopping you from being happy? Remember, the way you interpret the world will make your day sunny or rainy :)
Also, I recently read that going out in the nature to take a walk or just to sit down on a blanket and enjoy the view helps your brain relax and brings the wonderful feeling of peace of mind. How amazing is that?
What are you waiting for? It's summer, go  out in the nature and relax. Peace of mind is sure to follow :)

Day 205. Have faith

Have faith

We were all amazed by winter's stormy comeback and since nobody expected it some people complained about it every single day another snowflake fell from the sky.
I have to admit that seeing a lot of snow in spring was almost like decorating a Christmas tree in the middle of summer but even so those complains were useless. With or without them, nature always follows its course and today I've seen it happen. It's the best example to show us we need to have faith that better times WILL come.
Also, I remember that when I was really sick last time I said complains should be allowed but now that I'm rational again I really see no point in using them. We gotta buckle up and brace ourselves for whatever is ahead. Keep our heads up and know. Know that everything will be ok in the end, that spring will come and that flowers will bloom. Here it is, it's happening right now:)

Day 89. When the sun smiles at you

sunny winter day 2012

... you smile back:) Because you know that's gonna be a good day:)
I loved it today. I loved the chill in the air, the winter scent and the sun shining through the naked trees. Nature is now ready. Ready for the first snowfall of the year.
I can't wait!!! Let it snow:)

Day 45. Lady of the mists

Foggy sunny morning

Mornings have always fascinated me, especially the ones bathed in sun or fog.
This morning I was pretty lucky:) I opened my eyes to an amazing scenery that should have made my day. Nevertheless, sometimes, no matter how hard we try during the day, we have moments of... boredom... and I guess that's normal. I was booored today. Bored and not in the mood for beautiful walks in nature even though it was a perfect day for such a thing (been there done that way too much with my family and now it doesn't feel special).
I guess there are days and days and we shouldn't force ourselves to do things that we don't feel like doing but then again there are opportunities that arise and that should be taken into consideration before it's too late:)

Day 32. Desaturate

autumn desaturated scenery

Willingly or not, nature's being desaturated little by little. The chill outside entered my bones and the wind reminded me I have to wear a hat. Oh, dear, it's THAT side of autumn already... I wish she wouldn't be so moody sometimes and just smile daily. That would be cozier, huh?

Day 30. Autumn is like a box of chocolates

Violet little flower

... You never know what you're gonna get:)
Why did I replace "life" with "autumn"? Because just the other day while gathering wood for a barbeque I found this tiny pretty flower. I didn't think I'd find flowers around during autumn knowing nature is preparing to enter the long sleep, but there it was, smiling at me so I couldn't ignore it and I smiled back:)
Autumn continues to amaze me each day:)

Day 29. Look up

sunny autumn day

On Friday I remembered how important it is to look up from time to time:) We, people, are used to walking ahead and thinking about how to arrive from point A to point B, but we often forget to enjoy the ride, to look around, look UP and notice the small details that can make a difference, that can make our day brighter, that can put a smile upon our face:)
Let's look up more often and embrace the amazing nature around us:)

Day 14. 50 shades of autumn

gloomy autumn day

Last Thursday autumn showed us her bad side. It rained all day long. I know some of you love rainy days, but I don't. I'm exactly the opposite! I LOVE sunny days and I take my energy from them. So, as you can guess, rainy days make me blue and "help" me find the bad part in everything. Yeah, what a psychologist since I can't psycho bubu myself with this one... I don't know, I've always been like this. In love with the "springy" kind of weather. The one that reminds you nature is alive and kicking. Rain just melts everything and covers the beating heart of nature.
   Don't you agree?

Day 2. Spoonful of autumn

autumn leaves

I was sooo happy to be able to spend the morning in the middle of nature again, holding hands with the young lady called Autumn. I love feeling her scent, touching her colors, embracing her warmth while laying in the sun.
I can feel it! It's going to be a lovely autumn!<3
