Day 333. Believe

Today was one of those really happy days for me:) Because I got the exam result and it was astronomical. Wow! I knew the music teacher (our exam supervisor) did an awesome job psychologically preparing us for the exam, that I loved the subjects (they were exactly what I wished for) and that I had an interesting idea for one of the subjects and all that made me very proud and confident while writing the exam, but giving the last year's experience when I thought I did good and seemingly I didn't, I didn't know what to expect this year. So in the end, looks like I overestimated the difficulty of the exam and I was wrong to stop believing in myself when I got the last year's result.
So what I learned today is that whenever you want to do something and you want it bad, believe in yourself. Believe you can and stretch all your resources to get where you want and remember that no matter how difficult the target might look like, it's always achievable if you believe in yourself. Trust that you can reach all your goals no matter how utopian they might look like. Know that the feeling of confidence will boost everything else in the right direction. Sure, there's competition and the resources might be scarce but know that you can. You can achieve anything you set for yourself, be it an awesome job, an amazing boyfriend, vacation destinations or anything else:)
Also, what I learned is that whenever you are confident you can move the mountains and nobody can take that feeling from you:) So hold on tight to it! You Will move the mountains if you believe!:)

Day 127. Girls just wanna have fun

rice and chicken with bamboo

Today I have a reason to be proud of myself: I didn't buy anything from the mall except for some almonds (which are good for your health). This might sound like "Hello, I'm Dana, and I haven't been a shopaholic for 4 months now." Well no. I'm not a shopaholic, but girls know how hard it is to keep it just to window shopping:) January's the Winter Sales month and when you have money, you tend to spend it. Some spend it wisely, girls... sometimes have the tendency to act on their instinct and afterwards they might have the "student syndrome" - when you find out you're short on money and have to live in scarcity until next month. Nevertheless, it wasn't my case today.
My best friend and I had a lot of fun while browsing some shops for accesories but at the end of it we took the most rational decision lately: we can live without the things that were on sales. We didn't feel like spending money on cheap things that we weren't in love with. So we took the way to the Food Court and enjoyed a dinner that made me remember how heaven must feel like.
At the end of the day we both concluded that we'd rather spend our money on books than earrings... for now.

Day 86. Romania, my home

ziua nationala romania 2012

Today I'm proud: proud of the good people who died in order for us to live in a free country, proud of the people who represent Romania in a good way showing intelligence, creativity and generosity. I'm proud to be able to live my dream in my own country. I'm proud that even if we don't have the salaries of the people in the West, we can still have a beautiful, peaceful life, loving friends and family. Every country has its reasons to be ashamed of, but we have to remember to see the glass half full instead of half empty.
In the end, everything happens for a reason and I thank God I was born in Romania. I love its sceneries that give me plenty of photographic material, its warm and kind people and its beautiful, unique cities:)

   La multi ani, Romania!:)

Day 11. The bond

happy childhood

I know, I've talked about childhood before, but working with kids and being among them has its effects on me. I've seen a mother pick up her child in kindergarten today and she was so affectionate with her little daughter. There was surely a strong bond between the two. The girl said she liked it there and she'd come tomorrow too and her mother kissed her proudly. Then, I say: What can be more beautiful than being a mother and having a beautiful child who will light up your days? I think I'm getting old for saying this (I wouldn't have thought about it some years ago) but I bet I'll actually enjoy the adulthood we want to achieve when being little and the one grown up people say you want to avoid:) Can't wait to have my own family and my own kids!<3
