365 days project 2: Day 11. Serendipity

Picture this: you're waiting for the bus and an old lady comes up to you, asks something about a bus, you realize you're waiting for the same one and you start talking. You've never seen her in your life and you will probably never see her again. Still she carried a very deep message that made you meditate long after you parted. Then, the very next day you sit down on your regular bus and an old man sits down next to you and he starts talking to you mainly about the same ideas the previous day's lady talked about. Now, we all know old people love to chat about their life but what are the odds that in two consecutive days two different people randomly come to you and talk about the same thing: how to live a long and happy life?
These two encounters made me think that the Universe was trying to send me a message. So I opened my heart and soul and I listened. I remembered I was praying for guidance for a while and then I knew: this was the guidance I needed.
If somebody else would have met these two people they would have just shruged it off and said "ah, old people, so chatty" and just leave it at that and go on with their life. But I'm the one who notices all the little details and then improves her life borrowing some old people's wisdom gathered in so many years of living on this planet. Why not open your heart and listen to what random encounters bring? Maybe the Universe is trying to send you a message. Make sure you're getting it! :)

The doors

Dear diary,

I've been thinking about a new concept that came to my mind for a while now. I find it interesting how the important people in our life unlock different doors inside us. It's like we're all wonderful castles that carry their stories of the past with them... some happy, some sad, but all as important to the beauty and the mystery of the castle.
As castles, we all gather bits and pieces of information that has been given to us and we keep it in different rooms along the time. And when the right person approaches the castle, it enters it and it finds a new key that leads to a new room. A room with wonders and unexpected beauty. With secret books they never knew existed but which apparently were always there.
New people open new rooms of the beautiful castle and in the end the whole building will be open to visit for it has reached the age of wisdom when it can give forward what it has received over so many years.
How wonderful can it be to know that at an unexpected moment, an unexpected visitor will open up a new room in your beautiful castle, a room that will be a wonder for both the visitor and for the castle itself!:)

In wonder,
D.

Day 330. Brand new

We all go through new situations at some point. Things we're not used to, things we gotta deal with even if we don't know how to. Those are the situations that are going to be cornerstones for our future development. The ones that will help us get more knowledge and achieve wisdom more easily. Because how would we evolve if life was only a continuous routine where nothing new ever happened?
New things used to scare me when I was a teenager because I liked my things the way I had them. So whenever something new happened, be it having a new teacher, needing to solve a new type of problem or discovering a new social network I felt odd. I would always reject it at first and it would take me a while to get used to it. The thing I learned these past years, though, is that we can accommodate to anything. No matter how bad, strange or how uncomfortable it is, we find a way to cope with it. Sure, if we can avoid it, we will do that, but when it's one of those things you have get used to... you will. Our nature helps us accommodate and keep learning from our experience. So why avoid new situations if they can help you grow?
Today I decided to make an account on tumblr. It's still weird for me, but I'm figuring it out. And I'm surely not feeling odd anymore:) Cos now I know new is good. New is a pathway to better. So here's so outrunning ourselves!:)

Day 67. The road is long

sunny autumn landscape

Sometimes all we want to say is "It's too much." Some situations exceede our knowledge and we're left behind with no idea how to get out of there. Well, it's a long way to wisdom and experience helps a lot. You can't pretend to know it all from the beginning, even if you have theoretical knowledge of how things should work. It's no rule it will.
What we could do is get out of the self pity mood we're in and try to solve the situation without complaining. Complaining doesn't help. It just gets you stuck there. So, get up and look for answers. You'll be amazed to find out that many times the answer is within you

Day 64. The teacher within the child

fairy wall sticker

Even if seen as innocent, naive and without knowledge, children possess a lot of wisdom. Today a girl made me wonder. She raised emotions in me and when I left I was troubled. How could wisdom enter such a small body?:)
Many times, all we have to do is stop and listen. Listen to the children around us and learn. It's precisely their innocence that makes them wiser than the grown ups. Children are very suitable teachers.
So let's listen to them more carefully:)
