365 days project 2. Day 43. Focus

Every day has the potential to anger you and to bring you down. It might take you by surprise and you might end up wallowing in that feeling for the longest time. That's when you'll miss the small details that could make your day more beautiful, things like drawings made by kids stuck on your bus's windows.
You're powerful so get out of your anger, disappointment, stress or worry. Ask yourself why you are feeling all those emotions. The answer is not in the world surrounding you but deep inside yourself. What are you thinking about? What needs have you got that don't get enough attention? What's wrong? If you ask yourself all these questions you will see the light at the end of the tunnel and you'll be able to get out of the dark sooner :)
Focus on what makes you smile. Forgive, forget and move on! Life is wonderful! Just look around! :D

Day 293. Inspirational

ikebana in an egg shell

Summer vacation is a paradox to me. So much awaited and still full of boredom moments when you lose interest in everything and you just wish you could go back to working the whole day like you used to.
I felt that way yesterday. But today I realized that in all those weird moments that seem painful and endless, there is hope. Life in general is not boring, we're just focusing on the wrong things: watching the wrong Tv Shows, doing the wrong activities, depending on people to make us happy.
So what should we do? Switch our focus on the right thing. All we have to do is find a motivator. If we discover something appealing, then the whole day is saved. And inspiration comes from the little things. Just close your eyes and think: what would you wanna do? Where would you wanna be? What can you do with what you have around you? You have no idea? Ask somebody. See what others do. Maybe an idea will pop up from there.
Just... don't give up! You can turn your day from boring to amazing in no time:)

Day 102. As the angels sang

Today I went to see my boyfriend sing in a beautiful Christmas concert performed by the choire he's attending. It's already a tradition for me but the concert doesn't cease to amaze me every year! I almost burst into tears while I was listening to it. They sounded THAT good and they're not even professional singers.
At some point while I was listening to the beautiful songs my thoughts slipped to other contexts of my life. And then I remembered... Weeks ago a fellow psychologist told us: "That's our problem. We're not THERE when we should be. We often think about something else: problems that need to be solved, future plans, past experiences. Our mind is in the wrong spot. So let's be here and focus only on what we're doing NOW." And so I did. I went back to enjoying the concert and in the end I left at peace with myself. It was truly an evening well spent:)

Note to self: Be there with your mind too not only with your body!

Day 66. Fix you

still life broken cup

We're all broken one way or another. Problems, worries and disappointments, they all break us up. But it's up to us to fix ourselves to be able to smile again.
We need to focus on the things that we DO have and be thankful for them instead of worrying about the ones we don't, we need to stop the gloomy thoughts and start trusting life again because she wants to embrace us and we should let her.

Let's be creative and make the best out of what we have now:)
