Day 308. Priceless

You can't buy happiness

You know what they say: you can buy a lot of things but there are some that money just can't buy. You will never be able to buy happiness, love, peace, class, lost time and so on. Yeah, you can buy things to get you there for a second, a minute, a day or maybe a week, but when you wake up the next day, will you still be happy? Think again:)
Today my boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday. Happy, happy, joy, joy:) Of course, he received a nice gift, something he loved and needed, but at the end of the day he told me: "you know, the fact that you love me and you're here with me is the best gift there is":) So, can you buy that? Real, everlasting happiness?:) I'm really proud of him and of the special thing we share. Anything I could buy wouldn't make me happier:) This is priceless:)

P.S. Happy birthdaaaay, honey<3 Love you lots!

Day 238. The perfect illusion

You know that moment when you randomly go in a store and see something that seems perfect for you?
You're amazed when you see it but you don't have the money to buy it right then so you go home daydreaming about coming back and getting it next time. But after some days, when you do go back to the store and see it again you realize you had the illusion of perfection and that, in fact, the thing is not as lovely and amazing as you remembered it.
The next step is being disappointed or relieved (depending on how much it costs) because in the end all this "game" brings in a lot of tension. Sometimes you realize you don't need it right then, but you have an irresistible feeling you want to own it. So when you go back and confront reality you realize you were just temporarily blind.
Today I felt just that. It's not the first time it happened to me and I realized it might occur because our whole life we're trying to find little pieces of ourselves and this kind of encounter is exactly what we need to feel complete... it's like trying to solve our own puzzle. So we're searching for the other pieces. Every time we find one of the right ones we're in 9th heaven, but sometimes the pieces are very similar and it's easy to be misled. That's when "the perfect illusion" happens:)
In the end, you win some battles, you lose some battles. Today I was relieved. The dress was too expensive:)

Day 217. Philos

There are books that catch your soul. Books that make you believe they were written exactly for you. They help you find yourself but they also take a part of you when you have to return them to the library. That's when you realize you wished you owned them because you had the feeling you were the first one who ran their fingertips on their pages, catching their very essence.
Then you want to forget they took a part of you and you try to replace them with new ones. Some will be boring, some will be close but not there and some will take another piece of you. Because that's what good books do to you. You put a piece of yourself inside when you're reading them and they take it with them when they are returned. That's why we buy books. To keep those pieces of our soul. But what if you can't find them in any bookshops in town? You just borrow some more books and you lend some more pieces of yourself. And you do it willingly because you can't help it.
Today "Beautiful creatures" took a piece of my soul. It's bittersweet. When I returned it I felt like a dear friend had moved to a different city. Longing. I felt longing. To hold it in my hands again, to smile while reading it, to learn new things, to find myself in it just like looking in a mirror. "Beautiful creatures" was written for me. That's for sure. And losing a piece of myself isn't making me feel more vulnerable, it's making me feel I am not alone. There is someone out there who writes exactly for me and that feels awesome:)

Day 73. Lovestruck

Vintage clock with flowers

I looked up the title in the urban dictionary. It fits perfectly for how I felt today. Not related to a person, though. It's related to the amazing, beautiful clock in the picture above. I met "him" in a hypermarket here in my town and I fell in love with it. I knew I had to get it. The price was extremely convenient as well but then... I took a minute and I started thinking: "Where would I put it? It doesn't fit with the rest of my room. It doesn't necessarely fit in my office at the kindergarten. I don't have my own place yet... It would definitely fit in a romantic kitchen with lots of plants. Nevertheless, I don't own that kitchen yet." So I eventually decided I had to break up with the idea of purchasing the clock. I had regrets and I've been thinking about it ever since I left the store... I still really want to have it. I can't explain why. I just know I do... and one day I will have it.
This happens to us all the time. Walking around window shopping and suddenly laying our eyes on something extraordinary. That's when we know we're lovestruck. And we can't rest until we buy that amazing thing. Do we really need it right then? Of course we don't. But something inside us is yelling: "That's ME, that's exactly what I would pick if I looked for that. I want it! I want it now!" And maybe there should't be any second thoughts because it's so rear the chance when you find something as extraordinary as that. Be it shoes, accesories, clothes, books, decorations, furniture or many other things.
If you take the decision to follow your brain instead of your heart, just like when you fall for a person, your heart won't rest until you get what you want. So, forget the brain and follow your heart. You probably won't find that particular thing when you'll be looking for it and having the chance of finding it all of a sudden, when you least expect... that gotta be destiny:)

Day 26. She's a lady

brown shoes and earrings

Just like I said, I wore a skirt today. And I looked fancy:) But I think it's not only the skirt that makes a woman look lady like, it's the proper shoes and, very important, the earrings!:) Girls know what I mean. So, we do have a reason to collect/buy as many earrings as possible because there are so many occasions to wear them on! Am I right or am I right?
