Birthday girl

   Dear future Dana,

   There's no place like home and there's no birthday like the one shared with your loved ones. 

   This year I felt like a mini Anthony Hopkins (I saw this video here: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=1LGVGekPSzo and I was soooo impressed by the fact that the whole audience was clapping while standing BEFORE the waltz was played. That moment I realized I want to reach that. I want to change the world in such a way that people notice.) I got soooo many beautiful messages and so many people made me feel special and important. I got meaningful gifts which made me cry happy tears. I understood I'm on a good path. Whatever I'm doing, I'm doing it right. I inspire people, I make them smile. And that's what I always wanted.

   So I guess I'm 26 now. No longer 18, no longer 20 or twenty something, it's 26 and I feel like a woman. One in full bloom... good, brave and wise... just like he told me 8 years ago. What I lack in work experience, I make up with passion and dedication. I am living the dream life. I read somewhere that 80% of the people hate their jobs. Wow, that's huge. I don't. I actually LOVE it. With ups and downs, good days and bad days, naughty kids or the most heart warming ones. I love it all. I am at the peak of my youth and I intend to live it all as well. 

Here's to an amazing 26th year! The adventure has just begun!

Day 308. Priceless

   You know what they say: you can buy a lot of things but there are some that money just can't buy. You will never be able to buy happiness, love, peace, class, lost time and so on. Yeah, you can buy things to get you there for a second, a minute, a day or maybe a week, but when you wake up the next day, will you still be happy? Think again:)  

   Today my boyfriend and I celebrated his birthday. Happy, happy, joy, joy:) Of course, he received a nice gift, something he loved and needed, but at the end of the day he told me: "you know, the fact that you love me and you're here with me is the best gift there is":) So, can you buy that? Real, everlasting happiness?:) I'm really proud of him and of the special thing we share. Anything I could buy wouldn't make me happier:) This is priceless:)

Day 270. Giving and receiving

   Sometimes things turn out to be better than we expect and we receive much more than we think we deserve. And all that because karma works her deal all the way. What you give is what you shall receive:)

   Today I read a quote saying "We are not blessed so we can have, we are blessed so we can give." And I love giving! So I organized some cute, unexpected ways to surprise a friend on her birthday:) What I loved most was seeing her sincere reactions of happiness while she was expecting this to be just another regular birthday:) It's interesting to think that I was the one surprised at some point in the past and now, by doing this, I paid it forward. It surely feels good to be able to do it.

   In the end, there's more happiness in giving than receiving:) At least in my case. Making people happy is one of my purposes in life. Today, mission accomplished:)

Day 214. A fairytale birthday

   Today I went to my best friend's place to celebrate my birthday with her:) 

   I didn't get why she was so enthusiastic when telling me how we were going to spend the day. But when I got there... it all made sense:) She had prepared an awesooooome birthday cake for me that I knew nothing about! After 10 years of friendship, I couldn't read her. So I guess she's THAT good:)

   You know how kids react when their mom brings out their birthday cake?:) I felt kinda like that, especially because this year I didn't have a cake at all and I didn't expect to receive one either. It's interesting how our inner child wakes up from time to time and helps us enjoy everything more intensely:)

   In the end, I felt like living in a fairytale because there princesses celebrate their birthday for 3 days in a row. Today it was the second day. Who knows what tomorrow will bring?:)

Day 192. Birthday presents

   It's my best friend's birthday todaaaay and I miss her like crazy! She's gone on an awesome trip to see her friends from Czech Republic. How awesome can that be for a birthday present to yourself? I'd wanna go on a trip abroad for my birthday too!:) 

   In other news, the city looks beautiful in the spring light. I'm still waiting for the cold wind to go home to his momma though:) Let it be spriiiing!

Day 92. Innocence at its best

   

   Today was a girl's birthday. The teacher told her to stay in front of the class and all of a sudden some kids started telling her "happy birthday" followed by: "I will make you a ribbon" or "I will make you a heart" said another. The girl looked very happy and pleased. 

   This is innocence at its best. They don't need big gifts. Children need friends. And love. A lot of love. Cos that's what helps them get through rough times. That's how they become the adults of tommorow who know how to live their life beautifully. 

Let's share love more often:) 

Day 15. Birthdays

   Birthdays remind us we have friends. Friends we don't see all year long but we get the chance to see on our b-day. Or friends that we didn't talk to in a long while and still, they send us a "happy birthday" wish on our Facebook wall. Friends are connected to birthdays. Always will be. Even if you're flying solo and you don't have your own "group of favourite people", some classmates will surely remember your birth date and there you go! You've got yourself some birthday wishes:) Maybe you think they're just a formality, but if you look at them the other way, you'll see how much those wishes actually help you want to fight another year, enjoy it and find the best part in everything. 

   Let's focus on the bright side of birthdays! Hanging around loved ones... no matter who they are:) You don't even need presents... Ok, maybe just a few:))
