Day 311. Listen up

People are social beings and they communicate through speech and body language. We all know that. The bug is that many times we don't know HOW to share our ideas and we end up messing up our relationships with our friends and family because we want them to understand us but we fail to remember that we have to understand them too. How many times did that happen to you?
The key to few conflicts is being assertive. And that involves telling people what you feel without hurting them in any way. How to do that? Describe the behavior that bothers you, say how you feel and mention the effect of that behavior on you. Don't just put it on them. Don't judge or criticize them. Try to understand them too and start listening more. Listen to their needs and tell them your needs in an assertive way. Work together on keeping the good vibe:)
Be the one to start behaving differently and then notice the change that occurs around you. Stay assertive. And don't forget:

Day 229. Pass it on

Bee on a flower

Today I realized that our human brain can be associated with computers. Computers that receive information and pass it on. The only difference is that, unlike them, we somehow have the ability to change details, even if the content stays the same. I guess we're drawn to wrapping the information as interesting as possible:)
Just think about it. Every day we hear, read or see something new and we talk about it with people around us. We spread lots of information that makes us feel a strong emotion. Do we tell others uninteresting stuff we read on Facebook? No, we don't because our brain  only remembers the things we connect to, the ones that speak to us. So we transmit them forward. It's part of who we are. At the end of the day, no matter if we think about it or not, we can't standby.

What type of information have you transmitted today? Has it made people around you smile or has it made them feel appalled and lose faith in humanity again? Think about it. Do you try to focus on the bright side of life or do you just let your brain always lead you to the negative one? What you say is what you are:)

Day 49. Sleepover

Dinner at a sleepover

On Thursday night I went to my best friend's place for our anual sleepover:) We use to do that once a year when we have the house to ourselves in order to watch our favourite TV Shows and talk about everything till we can't keep our eyes open. But it was a long day until the evening came.
My flu said she didn't want to let me go so, by the time I was celebrating Coldrex scared her away, she made a big comeback with intense throat pain and a lot of coughing. So, I went to see the doctor like I said the previous day, and she gave me new pills. Long story short, the pills made me soooo sleepy I could barely stay awake for half of the day. Imagine the joy of going to see the kids and them being all energetic while all I wanted to do was sleeeep. The day went by weirdly with alternative moments of being ok and moments of intense need of a good sleep. At the end of the work day, all I really wanted was to be flu-less again!!!:(
So the evening came and maybe I should have stayed in bed, at home, but I couldn't have missed such an event so I went to see my best friend:) We had a lot of fun and we cooked and drank a lot of tea and milk and in the end the flu didn't matter so much anymore. I had my best friend with me and that helped a lot. That's why, even if we don't see our friends very often, it's always nice to know they are still there and willing to catch up with us and be around to make our life prettier:)
   I <3 my friends:)
